The production studio, Hello,Savants! were kind enough to lend me the designer & animator Marco Galmacci who was the brains and hands on this project. Using a combination of Photoshop, After Effects, and Cinema 4D he created a video that he compares creatively to how a painting takes shape.

Of all the collaborative filmmaking crafts, editing is perhaps the hardest creative art to judge, yet among the most critical in terms of shaping the story. Although during the course of the production the editor usually puts the initial edit together, sometimes with little input from the director, once production is complete the polishing of the film is normally done in close partnership with the director, blurring the line between the editor's contribution and the director's vision.

In today's digital age of ftp, Drop box, "the cloud", why isn’t there more of a lure and desire from clients to work with an editor remotely? The big studios do it all the time with 3D specialists based all over the world and even render to remote locations.
