The success of The Revenant, the story of a fur trapper, Hugh Glass, on a mission of revenge after his son is murdered and he is left for dead in the frozen wilderness, is largely carried by the singular, and often non-verbal, performance of Leonardo DiCaprio. Editor Stephen Mirrione, tasked with shaping that performance, developed an even deeper appreciation for what DiCaprio was able to accomplish.
